Main Ingredients

  • Rice(washed)
  • Toor Dal
  • Water
  • Onion(chopped)
  • Tomato(chopped)
  • Mixed vegetables(as desired)
  • Groundnuts
  • GowdaKitchen Bisi Bele Bath Powder
  • GowdaKitchen Ghee(for the Bisi Bele Bath)
  • Fresh Peas / Frozen Peas

For Seasoning

  • Ghee
  • Mustard seeds
  • Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Dry red chillies
  • Cashew nuts

Ingredients

Rice, Toor Dal, Water, Onion, Tomato, Mixed vegetables, Groundnuts, GowdaKitchen Bisi Bele Bath Powder, GowdaKitchen Ghee, Fresh Peas / Frozen Peas, Ghee, Mustard seeds, Asafoetida (Hing), Dry red chillies, Cashew nuts.

Cook Dal

Take a large, heavy-bottomed pot, add 8 glasses of water and 1 glass of Toor Dal, and bring to a boil.

Add Vegetables

When the dal is half cooked, add chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, mixed vegetables, and 2-3 tbsp groundnuts. Allow to boil together.

Cook Rice

When vegetables are half cooked, add 1 glass of washed rice. Cook until rice, dal, and vegetables are completely soft.

Add Masala

Mix 2-3 tbsp Bisi Bele Bath powder with a little hot water to make a smooth paste. Stir into the pot and simmer for a few minutes.

Add GowdaKitchen Special Ghee

Mix in 2 tbsp ghee.

Prepare Seasoning

Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan. Fry mustard seeds, asafoetida, dry red chillies, and cashews until aromatic. Pour over the Bisi Bele Bath.

📝 Notes & Tips

Serve hot with Kara Boondi or Potato Chips. For the best taste and texture, serve with a generous drizzle of ghee. Note that the Bisi Bele Bath will naturally thicken as it rests. And Don’t add DrumSticks and Tamarind to it
