Traditional Mysore Pak Recipe :
Mysore Pak is an easy-to-make sweet delicacy, which can be prepared very easily at home.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Gram flour/ Kadalai mavu
- 1 cup Ghee ( You can 1/2 add more )
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup Sugar
During Diwali, making this sweet along other savory Diwali snacks will bring half the festive mood set right. Since this sweet is originated in the place called Mysuru ( Karnataka )
- Roast the gram flour: Make sure that you roast the gram flour properly so that the raw smell goes away
- Make a Whisk : Add 1 cup of ghee to a pan and heat it over medium flame. Once the ghee is sufficiently hot, add gram flour in it and make it whisk.
- Prepare the sugar syrup In another pan, boil the sugar with water till it reaches one string consistency ( It may take around 15- 20 min in low flame) . When the sugar syrup is prepared,
- Add the Whisk (Gram flour and Ghee Mix ): Add Whisk into sugar syrup , In between you can add 2-4 teaspoons of ghee to it. Keep stirring continuously so that no lumps are formed. When the ghee starts to rise up from the sides and begins to separate.( This may take 30- 40 min , Keep in the low flame)
- Spread the Mysore Pak and cool for shaping it. Stir and pour into a greased plate. Gently spread the mixture and allow it to cool. Before it hardens fully, slice into desired shapes.
